With Nigerian roots, CKay songs are dubbed “Emo-Afrobeats” and R&B. He combines African rhythms with raw emotions, which has propelled him to success. His hit song, “Love Nwantit,” broke out at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and went viral. He released “Watawi” in 2022 and became the 2nd African artist to achieve 1.2 billion streams that same year.

CKay (real name is Chukwuka Chukwuma Ekweani) was born in Kaduna, which is a state in Nigeria. He started initially with a local band before starting his solo career. His breakthrough record, “Container,” is an Afrobeats record that garnered him massive airplay. Since then, CKay’s song has won the Best African Song in the Muzikoi Music Awards for his hit, “Love Nwantiti.”
